The German Research Network on Schizophrenia is organized, with respect to illness development, into two main Project Networks (PN) and three Subnetworks (SN), focusing primarily on the treatment and need for care in the prodromal phase or at the onset of the first episode (PN I), and after first time hospitalization (PN II). Furthermore, Special Project Networks (SPV) are available for molecular genetics and - with independent funding - brain morphology, together with a number of projects on more general issues (healthcare economy, public education, continued medical education, quality assurance, etc.).
